HELLO THERE! Firstly, thanks for coming back regardless of my absolutely appalling efforts to blog over the past few months – more on that in another post. Secondly, I have still been reading blogs despite being mia over here, and interior posts have absolutely become one of my favourite types of post to read. With that I thought what better way to ease myself back in that write my own!
Furnishing our home has been a slow and steady process, we didn’t jump into all of the big purchases straight away, we wanted to live in the space first to get more of a feel of what we needed. With the change in season it’s inspired a few new purchases and a couple of spaces have had a little makeover. I have to say, I’m feeling pretty pleased with how it’s all coming together.
Some new prints
If you’re a regular reader you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Desenio. They have a massive selection of prints and frames with so many different sizes and themes. For our living room we’ve created a little cosy corner (My vision was having a little place to sit under a blanket and read a book/ watch a YouTube video). We went for oak frames with the Antibes and Figuratone poster in the 50×70 size, and they really do just complete the whole set up.
I’ve also updated the prints in our bedroom that sit on top of our IKEA MALM draws. I was about to say we, but these were definitely two prints my husband didn’t have much say in as I loved them so much *sorry Jay*. I just love how simple they are yet again it’s a space that looks much more put together just by having them there. I went for the gold frames and the prints are Flower Lines No1 and Flower Lines No2.
The lovely Desenio team have given me a discount code to give to you guys if you’re interested in purchasing anything from the site:
“The code “JODIE.MELISSA” gives 25% off posters*. Valid between November 6th and 8th.
*Except for frames and handpicked-/collaboration posters”.
The new chair and accessories
If you saw my IKEA haul you’ll know we finally decided on a chair for our living room. I was toying with the idea of going for a deep blue fabric but finding the perfect one that was still fairly affordable was actually impossible. Now I’m glad we went for something a little more neutral, I love the mid century style of the legs and it compliments our other furniture well too. I’ve settled with some deep blue accessories instead, these blue cushion covers and a throw to match also from IKEA. The deep shade of blue just works so well with brass accessories and grey, then if I do end up going off it I can just switch up the accessories in the future.
The finer details
I really wanted to find some brass photo frames to display some of our wedding photos I found these in Homesense *the mothership* and they’re perfect! We finally have a coffee machine coming too *finally* so we picked up cups and saucers from the Fox & Ivy range at Tesco. Honestly I do the majority of my food shop at Aldi – who doesn’t?! But I do love quickly popping into Tesco (or Sainsburys come to mention it) for a quick browse because they have some seriously nice homeware bits.
Have you picked up any new homeware bits for Autumn?
