Don’t get me wrong, I love being able to wear dresses and bare legs, but you really cannot beat a high neck jumper, a cosy scarf and a good pair of boots! The transition from summer into autumn is one of my favourite times for style (please someone reassure me that’s a good excuse to shop?) I love being able to wear more layers without the need for a coat that just hides an entire outfit, and I think that’s what makes it the perfect season for dressing. I’ve found myself doing a fair bit of shopping over the past two weeks so I thought I would share the pieces I’ve picked up.
Leopard print
Leopard print is every where, I’ve never liked it on me before but for some reason this year I’ve become a little obsessed. I spotted this leopard print blouse and bought it straight away, I’ve dressed it up with black jeans and heels, and dressed it down with mom jeans and sandals, it has fit into my wardrobe perfectly. I loved this blouse so much that I decided I needed these leopard print shoes, again an impulse purchase but I just love how they bring together the staples that I already own (just to clarify, I definitely don’t mix the two together…)
Three wardrobe staples
You’ll have already seen me harp on about the ASOS Farleigh jeans, but I just had to mention them again. They’re the perfect mom/ straight leg jeans, they’re some what flattering, comfortable, go with everything and managed to make me a complete convert to the whole mom jean vibe. Another staple that I can see me getting so much use out of is this crew neck &OtherStories jumper, it’s thick and cosy whilst still being flattering, and the short length makes it easy to tuck into skirts and trousers without getting that awkward bulge – winning! Lastly I picked up this gold buckle leather belt, I’ve been looking for the perfect vintage looking belt for a couple of months and this fit the bill perfectly, it works well as a waist belt with dresses and I’ve worn it with jeans too – it’s just a classic!
There are a couple more things included in my recent haul video, and below is a mix of the new buys with a couple of other things on my wishlist at the moment… How dreamy is the wool blazer from &otherstories!
Are you as mad as me and already buying things for autumn?
