For months I’ve been itching to write this post, I feel like the best way to describe It Cosmetics is a step up from Glossier. The packaging isn’t wacky, no unicorns or glitter here, and the main aim of the brand is to enhance your natural beauty – but for those of us who need a little more help than a sheer concealer. Remember QVC? Well they’re quickly becoming my new best friends stocking Tarte and It Cosmetics, you can buy from there and on Selfridges in the UK, so a little harder to get your hands on but oh boy, it’s worth it!
I’ll start with the CC Cream, before trying this I had heard people say that it’s less like a CC Cream and more of a medium coverage foundation, and I have to agree. It covers imperfections, lasts all day and makes my skin look radiant without being oily. My skin never looks cakey when I use this, I’m just obsessed. Another reason I love using this as my everyday foundation is the SPF of 50, I took this with me on my honeymoon and it’s been my everyday base for the past 2 months – so yeah, this one definitely comes highly recommend!
For the days when I need a heavy duty concealer I’ve been using the Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. It’s thick and creamy and has an insane amount of pigmentation, perfect for the morning after late nights/ hangovers (yes I’ve tested it for both) as it really does blur anything you need it to. It’s not something I reach for everyday as it does take a little more blending and setting, but it’s become my most reached for when I do need something that will provide a full on transformation…
When it comes to the brows I’m pretty loyal to the Fleur De Force Brow Pencil, I like something that I can draw hair like stokes with rather than just colouring in. The Brow Power was definitely a surprise discovery, the nib is thicker than the FDF pencil but that just makes it quicker to fill the brows in – I’ve found myself reaching for this more than anything else! Another bonus is that it lasts longer, I can get through a FDF pencil in less than a month, and at £12 a pop it can get a little pricey, although a little more expensive at first this is still going strong 3 months later. I have the shade Universal Taupe, and it’s the perfect light/ medium cool toned brow shade.
Last year I raved about the Giorgio Armani mascara, I repurchased it once but it’s a whooping £28! As much as I still love that mascara, the Superhero mascara is pretty much the same, and the closest I’ve ever come to finding a dupe. It’s still £19 so still a highend price tag, but if you like your lashes to have amazing length, volume and definition then you will fall in love with this mascara, it ticks all the boxes. I took this on my honeymoon and I didn’t find it to smudge or transfer in the heat at all, a bonus point!
If you couldn’t tell already I’m pretty much in love with It Cosmetics! It’s so rare to find a brand that has so many stand out products, I’ll give it a year before they’re being stocked in Boots and more accessible UK stores. If you could buy two things, I would say make it the CC Cream and the Mascara.
Have you tried anything from It Cosmetics or have any recommendations? I need allllll the It Cosmetics in my life!
