Lipsticks are definitely the one beauty product I have most of in my collection. I would say there’s over 30 (that’s post clear out) that I have to choose from *currently praying Jay doesn’t realise when I move in with him* here are my most used that I reach for regularly…
Of-course all of these are my go to lipsticks, but the one I would say I reach for on a day to day basis the most is MAC Patisserie. It really is the perfect every day lipstick for me, it’s comfortable, long wearing and the perfect nudey pink. It’s a lustre finish so looks glossy and leaves a shine on my lips which I love. Worn over the top of a lipliner this lasts around 4 hours on me, which for a lustre finish is pretty impressive. It’s one of those lipsticks that I don’t feel too made up in when I wear it, just the perfect shade to compliment a fairly natural everyday makeup look!
A pretty similar shade is Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect. I would actually say this is my all time favourite lipstick, it’s similar to Patisserie in shade but it has a slight peach undertone which makes it so pretty for spring and summer. The lipstick isn’t quite as glossy as Patisserie either making it last that little longer on the lips. It’s comfortable, lasts really well (especially paired with the CT PillowTalk lipliner) and looks pretty with every single makeup look I tend to wear.
Something a little more on the pink side is the No7 Intense shine lipstick in Pink Parfait. Annoyingly whilst writing up this post I’ve realised that this is actually limited edition – yep, I’m gutted! But I think it’s pretty similar to the No7 Sheer Temptation lipstick range. I just love how glossy and subtle the finish is yet there’s still a wash of colour. I’m not at all a bold lip wearer so this is a nice addition to my collection and a nice way to inject some colour into my everyday makeup routine. With it being sheer it really doesn’t last too well, but it’s effortless and fades nicely so I know when I apply this there’s nothing to worry about in terms of smudging.
Moving onto matte lipsticks, there had to be a nod to my most worn – MAC Velvet Teddy. It’s as nude as I go and it’s the only true nude shade I’ve found to be flattering on me as it still has a slight blue undertone and subtle pink hue. I love wearing this with more of a dramatic eye look (by dramatic I mean actually making the effort to wear eyeshadow). The one advantage this has over all of my other lipsticks is the staying power, teamed with Spice lipliner this lasts me well past mid day with a good 7/8 hours wear! Pretty grateful to Kylie Jenner for hyping this up – it’s a good’un! I think you always know you love a lipstick when you repurchase it time and time again.
Lastly onto the most recent addition to my collection – Glossier G Generation lipstick in Cake! This is the most wearable, fuss free matte nude lipstick I’ve ever found. I don’t know how they have managed the formula, but it’s matte, lightly pigmented and long wearing which makes it perfect for everyday. I really want to try the shades Zip and Jam now, I think they will make the perfect holiday lipsticks!
Have you tried any of these lipsticks?
