There’s nothing I love more than discovering a new product that’s absolutely amazing, especially when it’s skincare!
I seem to go through phases, some months I’ll try loads of new products and other months I’ll just stick to what I know and “shop my stash”… Recently I’ve been trialing quite a few new things so I wanted to dedicate a post to those and share my absolute favourites.
Antipodes has been a brand on my radar for years! I always remember the likes of Lily Pebbles raving about their products and one of my absolute favourites has become their vanilla pod face cream*. It’s been a little saviour for me over the past few weeks as it adds more hydration than my usual Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. It’s too rich for me to wear during the day but in the evenings I love using it to keep my skin hydrated… Even in the horrendous -5 temps we’ve had this week. The Antipodes hand creams* are beautiful too, they smell blooomin’ amazing and don’t feel greasy on the skin at all which is a must. Trying these bits has just made me want to try more from the brand, and better still it’s vegan which is always nice to know!
Now, I’m going to be controversial with this next one but hear me out, you ready? The Ren Glow Tonic* is better than the Pixi Glow Tonic… for a couple of reasons. I still think the Pixi GT is great, don’t get me wrong, but the REN GT has a pump, so you use barely any product which means it’s actually more cost effect and just easier to use in general. AND I see more results from the REN tonic, I thought the Pixi Glow Tonic made a difference to my skin, then I tried the REN version and now my skin is even more glowy. I will definitely continue to purchase the REN glow tonic – definitely worth giving it a go if you like the Pixi alternative.
NUXE very kindly sent over some products too and one thing that has stood out to me the most is the body oil. I’m making a conscious effort to moisturise every day and it’s one of those products that has actually made me want to moisturise – which never happens. With it being a dry oil it absorbs into the skin quickly leaving it feeling soft, and my skin looks more plump and hydrated. It’s lovely and feels like a luxurious step in my pamper routine. I’m definitely taking this away with me on my honeymoon and it’s something I think I’ll use the morning of my wedding for the bits of skin on show!
Lastly a lil mention to the Gatineau eye cream* I’ve mentioned this in my February favourites (just plugging my YouTube channel again) – as it’s found a way into my routine, and to be honest I didn’t think it would. It’s definitely not the kind of product I would usually reach for, but for no makeup days it’s perfect and I feel less guilty for not using eye cream on a regular occasion. It looks like your average eye cream but as you blend it it begins to add pigment to the skin and actually blur and conceal around the eyes. Again this is going to be a winner for holidays when I want a little coverage but nothing too heavy.
Have you tried any impressive skincare products lately?
