When it comes to Christmas and birthdays I’m super organised, but for some reason anything else and I usually leave things a little last minute – then panic and go into meltdown every time!
This year I actually have everything under control for Mothers Day, so I wanted to share a little last minute gift guide for anyone that’s struggling with what to buy a special lady for Mothers Day – for even more inspo I did write one last year too.
I think the main reason I love all things beauty so much is from years of seeing my mum wake up and make sure her makeup was done before she went anywhere, she still does this today! I always like to treat my mum to a little something beauty related. I think I can speak for most when I say you can’t go wrong with something relating to a good pamper/luxurious beauty pick.
In terms of makeup I love to gift something along the lines of a beautiful lipstick, dreamy highlighter or a thoughtful, holy grail product I know will go down a treat (for my mum that’s always Benefit Porefessional, she swears by it). In terms of lipstick it has to be the queeeeeen Charlotte Tilbury. She has a gorgeous selection of shades, one of the most versatile being PillowTalk. For highlighter the Dior Nude Air Luminizer* is absolute perfection, it’s pricey so possibly a main present but oh boy would you be happy to receive this if you’re a makeup lover!
Another beauty essential if of-course perfume. Two I wanted to mention for this mothers day that I know my mum is a fan of are Gucci Bloom* and Viktor and Rolf Nectar Flower Bomb*. Both come beautifully packaged so they get a tick for that, but not only that they are scents that aren’t too risky. I’ve found a good way of buying perfume for someone is finding out 2/3 of their current favourites, usually there will be a base note that tells you whether they prefer floral, fresh or woody scents – I’m a floral kind of gal always so both of these fragrances float my boat too.
Lastly for beauty I wanted to mention something under the £20 mark, this set from L’Occitaine is one of my faves that I’ve seen this year. Again gorgeous packaging – but the products themselves are lovely too, I think L’Occitaine is the perfect brand to go for if you’re after treating your mum to some pamper essentials/ beauty bits that aren’t too pricey.
When it comes to the non-beauty related gifts I do always find those a little harder to pick for my mum, but there are a couple of things that are fool proof. First up is slippers, and I don’t think you can go wrong with The White Company, these are my fave! Personalised gifts are always lovely too, and surprisingly you can do it last minute. I found these on NotOnTheHighStreet and for under £15 I don’t think you can get a more thoughtful gift, you can customise the cards and add your own messages which is so special and unique. Lastly I love gifting jewellery, I’ve recently discovered the brand Adore and there bracelets are beautiful, perfect for any age too so another gift I think anyone would love. A more affordable brand that does gorgeous jewellery is Olia Jewellery, there new spring/summer collection is fab!
Have you bought your mum/ special lady in your life anything for mothers day yet?
