At the end of April I’m officially moving out!
After finishing uni in May 2016 and moving back home, I’ve finally decided it’s time to fly the nest again and this time for good. I’m feeling excited, anxious, sad, literally every emotion under the sun as I’m actually moving 3 hours away from where I’ve lived most of my life. If you want an update on that there’s a brand new video on my YouTube channel now explaining things… One thing I’m so excited about is all the furniture and homewear bits and bobs I can finally buy, so I thought I would share the items I currently have bookmarked ready for our new home.
BEDROOM
The two main things we are looking to invest in to start off with are a bed and sofa. For our bed I have my eye on this one, I love the upholstered headboard on this as so many of them I’ve seen are velvet which I’m not a massive fan of. Another essential is bedside tables, I wanted some with a little storage and spotted these from ikea that I thought would go nicely with the bed, and they’re pretty affordable.
OFFICE
I want my office to be the room that has a little blush pink, nothing major but little things like this pouf, which I’m obsessed with because I had to include my fave colour some where… We’re also going to have a sofa bed in there and I have my eye on so many cushions. For my desk I’m a little torn, I absolutely love the Mid-Century desk from West Elm but it’s a little too much to be spending at the moment, this one from MADE is a little more affordable, but I don’t mind this one either – I guess I will have to wait and see! I know I’ll probably buy some more prints from Desenio, I have a couple of their prints already (showing ’em off in this post) and I love so many of their designs.
LIVING ROOM
Our living room is quite a big space so I was thinking as well as a coffee table, buying this small side table to just fill a little more space, and I thought it would be a nice place for some candles. To match that and stick with the brass theme I absolutely love this floor lamp, I love how it looks against the greenery and I think it will work well with a grey sofa. Speaking of sofas, I can see it being a struggle to find something that’s both gorgeous and cosy. Two I like the look of at the moment are this one and this. To make the space a little more cosy I also want to buy a grey rug, I spotted this one on Matalan which actually looks gorgeous, to be honest their whole range of rugs look really nice so I’ll probably buy a few for the other rooms in the house.
Throughout the house I imagine there will be one too many house plants, plenty of prints on the wall and we will collect different bits and pieces as the months go on. I love HomeSense so I’m sure I’ll be spending too much money in there over the next few months!
Some other bits bookmarked
So, I guess over the next year you can expect lots of wedding and interior content aswel as my usual beauty posts! If anyone has any recommendations of places to buy furniture then hit me up, I think homewear is going to become my next obsession…
