The wedding is less than 5 months away, eeeek!
Over the past month I’ve started buying some of the smaller things needed for the day, so I thought I would do a haul and share the bits we’ve got so far.
After hours of scrolling through Pinterest (which I’m sure most bride to bes find they will do a lot) we decided to have a welcome board outside the venue. We’ve been super lucky and managed to get a sign/board from a local cafe that we’ve spruced up a little with some chalk paint. All that’s left to do is put my calligraphy skills to the test and write on the front. Another big thing that we’ve managed to buy recently is the hurricane vases for the table centre pieces, I’ve shown them in this vlog if you’re interested. We got a selection of different sizes and they were all from Home Sense, which I really recommend if you are looking for wedding decor (or home decor for that matter because they have so many gorgeous things) I’ve found hiring these things can be just as expensive so I’m glad we managed to snap them up!
Another thing we want at the wedding is balloons, there will be a personalised one from BubbleGumBalloons, and I’m also deciding on whether to go for these tassel balloons or the Ivy balloons at the minute, although I think the tassel ones are my favourites and they will add a little something to the venue.
Another thing relating to the table centrepieces are these wooden table numbers* from a lovely shop on NotOnTheHighStreet called Oh So Cherished. They have so many gorgeous personalised wedding related things and gifts too. Our guest book* pictured below is from the same company, it’s real leather, amazing quality and exactly what we were looking for. Another, very important thing we’ve decided on is our wedding cake! We’re lucky to know someone who is going to make our cake for us, and I’m going to buy this cake topper for it, I love the calligraphy style writing.
Nearly all of the invitations have been handed out now (which, has actually been much harder that I thought it would be, in the end I asked for some help which made the world of difference). I’ve shown the invites on my Instagram quite a lot but never in a blog post, they are from a New Zealand based company called Paper Darling, the lovely owner Samantha was a dream during the whole design process and I’m so pleased with how they have turned out. I love the mix of blush pink and the greenery, it matches the venue perfectly. We actually decided it would be nice for the guests to RSVP via email, seeing the emails come through has made me so happy – it’s starting to feel very real!
Over the next month I have my wedding hair and makeup trial and the bridesmaids are going to be trying on some dresses – I’ve ordered these from ASOS.
