I do love a beauty bargain, but as you guys know I’m a sucker for high-end products!
Whether it be skincare or makeup I tend to gravitate towards products that are more luxurious. However, when shopping premium I always try and get the best deal I can. Fragrance Direct very kindly let me pick some products from their website, and for any of you who are students you can actually get 10% off your order with UniDays (wishin’ I was a student again). Fragrance Direct already apply good discounts to their products and stock amazing fragrances, makeup and skincare brands, it’s a win win really!
I’ve been wanting to try some bits from Murad for a while now and when I spotted the Murad Advanced Blemish & Wrinkle Reducer on FD I knew I wanted to try it. I’ve been using it for around 3 weeks now and it’s become my go to evening serum. I had a really bad hormonal breakout at the end of July and this has really helped speed up the clearing process. I’ve also noticed that combined with the Cougar Facial Oil Set (which I’m coming onto) the fine lines I have on my forehead have definitely diminished. I’ve never been so loyal to a serum in all my life!
I had a little look in the best selling section and there was the Cougar Hyaluronic Acid Facial Oil Set. Any skincare that contains hyaluronic acid I want in my routine, as I’m really starting to see some good results with it. As I briefly mentioned combined with the Murad serum my skin has been looking more glowy and feels so much more hydrated. Even to the point where other people have noticed too. One thing I will say is that they are quite heavily fragranced which I don’t love, but I can put up with it for plump, glowy skin! I’ll be repurchasing these when they run out for sure.
I’ve heard so many people rave about the cult classic Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Cream that I really wanted to give it a go myself. It’s another product that’s heavily scented, but I’ve been using it on my lips and cuticles in the evening and they’ve been feeling so hydrated. Definitely a product I’m going to be using in the run up to my wedding.
For years I’ve heard people rave about the Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder (mines in the shade 00), and it’s safe to say it lives up to the hype! When I first swatched this I was concearned it would be a little too warm toned for my liking, but it actually works nicely for me adding a natural, sunkissed looking
In an attempt to rekindle my love for a pale nude/ pink lipstick I picked up the Bobbi Brown Lip Color in pale pink. At first I wasn’t sure whether it washed me out but this shade has actually grown on me, and I’ve found myself reaching for it when I want to wear a little colour. I absolutely love the formulation, it’s creamy and lasts on the lips for a good 4-5 hours. The only thing it’s missing for me is the sweet vanilla scent similar to my trusty MAC/ Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks.
Have you made any high end beauty purchases lately?
