All year round I try to protect my skin from being dehydrated, but especially during the autumn/ winter months when it can get it’s worse.
I try to use products throughout my routine that will boost hydration, from cleansers to facial oils here are 5 of my faves…
When it comes to cleansing my first cleanse is always an oil. One I have been reaching for alot lately is the SuperFacialist by Una Brennan Miracle Makeover Facial Oil. This does such a good job at removing my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean yet nourished at the same time. Some nights I’ll also give myself a mini facial massage and it’s perfect to use for that too. A little pricey at £14.99 for 30ml but a little goes a long way and it’s definitely one of the better more affordable oil cleansers I’ve tried.
I’ve recently noticed a huge difference in my skin since using Hyaluronic acid – I can’t recommend it enough. The best I’ve tried is the Cougar Hyaluronic Acid Oil, I use this after cleansing and apply any other treatments and moisturisers over the top and I’ve noticed that my skin is much more hydrated and fine lines are diminishing! I can’t see Hyaluronic acid leaving my routine any time soon.
A product that I’ve been using for around 2 years now is the Trilogy Rose Hip oil. I feel like this has done it’s rounds in the blogging world but all with good reason. It’s the perfect facial oil for anyone with combination skin as it’s hydrating without being too heavy. It sinks into the skin quickly and acts quickly leaving everything feeling plump and nourished. I love using this in the evening, in the morning I tend to opt for a moisturising cream rather than an oil. If you read my blog a lot or follow me on social media you’ll know the moisturiser I always rave about and have used for over a year now is the Ultra Facial Cream. It’s lightweight and not greasy in the slightest yet manages to really nourish my skin leaving it supple and hydrated. It’s perfect for both day time use and it’s become a real staple in my skincare routine.
One of my all time favourite masks that I reach for when my skin needs a serious hydration boost is the Origins Drink Up Intense Overnight Masque. I apply a thin layer of this (a pea sized amount, that’s all) in the evening, the next morning my skin is noticeably more plump and radiant and also feeling less tight, it’s definitely the most effective mask I’ve tried to combat dehydration and is worth the hype (and £25 as I’m aware that’s quite a splurge for a mask – it’s seriously impressive though).
