I’m always looking for products that will add more volume to my life less hair and make it appear thicker. Whether you have fine hair and want to add volume or even if you have thick hair but it can look quite flat, here are some tips/ products I like to use to give my hair a boost…
I’ve found keeping my hair in the best condition to be so important, a regular cut and long layers means I can achieve more volume at the ends aswel as the root. I’ve been using sulphate shampoo for a while now and that also seems to help keep my hair healthy which is always good.
Two other products I like to use are Moroccan Oil and the Pureology Treatment Spray*. I colour my hair and a lot of texturising sprays can be quite drying, using these products keeps it looking healthy, thicker and stops split ends/ even more thinning!
For me it’s how I style my hair and the styling products I use that make the real difference. I don’t ever wear my hair straight because it looks so flat, if you have fine hair or want your hair to look thicker I would always recommend adding in a curl/ wave. I use GHD’s, it’s the perfect tool to get loose beachy waves.
Dry shampoo really is my saviour, not only to stop any oily roots but I like to use a little just after I wash my hair. Sounds odd but it actually means I can go an extra day without washing and it adds volume to the roots. I feel like Batiste has a bit of bad press, but it’s the only dry shampoo that actually does what it says on the tin for me!
Two new styling products that I’ve recently been sent have been serious game changers for me. The Colour Wow Raise The Root Thicken + Lift Spray* has honestly been revolutionary, it adds so much volume to the roots which I always struggled with previously. It’s not sticky and it doesn’t leave my roots knotty like back combing does, it just stops my hair being so flat on my head!
Now, the Style on Steriods spray*… I feel like the name of this products says it all! I’ve never used a texturizing spray that adds so much volume and texture to the hair, it’s seriously impressive. It combines texture and hold like a hair spray so it really does a lot for one product. However, for me this does have the downside of being quite dry on my hair. I don’t use this everyday for that reason, but when I want my style to last and for my hair to look full of life I absolutely love it. If you’re looking for a more affordable option then the Lee Stafford Lived in Spray is the best I’ve tried, it adds less hold than the Style on Steriods but adds a lot of texture helping to add volume to beachy waves all day.
