I know we still have a little bit of summer left, but with the rather rubbish weather we’ve had these past few weeks it really does feel like it’s drawing to a close!
Anyway, it prompted me to have a think about the things I’ve loved this summer (so far…)
1) Embracing more of a capsule wardrobe
Recently I’ve been so cautious about the clothing I buy making sure to spend my money on things I can actually wear more than once – how sensible of me. I’ve found that I’ve spent a lot less than I usually would and I have so many more complete outfits to choose from! I’ve been picking up a lot of slogan t’s that will definitely see me into A/W, I’m going to read into the whole capsule wardrobe thing more and carry on with it in the colder months.
2) Exploring new places
If you follow me on Instagram then you may have noticed over the past month or so I’ve been trying to embrace the warmer days and visit new places local to me and in the UK. I’ve really enjoyed just getting out more – neglecting the blog in the process, sorry – I always feel so inspired and refreshed after a little break.
3) Looking after my body/ skin
This summer I feel like I’ve discovered so many amazing body care products that have made the warmer days 10x easier to handle. Now, this may be a little TMI but Bodyform* have recently released a black version of their daily fresh liner, for me this is absolutely genius as all year round I tend to opt for darker underwear – how has no one thought of this before!? They’re just a really good way to stay comfortable and are so much more discrete than the typical white ones you see. Another favourite is the Mitchum deodorant, I always repurchase this because I know I will never have any worries or problems with it… It’s one of those deodorants that you just know will work!
Another body fave that deserves a quick mention is the Vaseline Cocoa Radiant body moisturiser. This leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and absorbs quickly, it’s just been a really easy way to keep my skin nourished over the past few months (admittedly, before using this I was pretty lazy with it). If you’re looking for an affordable body lotion it’s one of the best I’ve tried.
4) Wedding planning
I honestly can’t believe that in 8 months time I’m going to be getting married! I could write paragraphs about the wedding but what I’m enjoying most whilst planning is seeing just how excited all of our friends and family are, I can’t wait to celebrate with them and my husband – eeeekk! We have a lot of the big things sorted now and it’s all starting to feel very real. I’m excited, can you tell?
A bit of a random one but I always feel like during the spring/ summer months I’m so much more inspired when it comes to photography and posting on Instagram. I’ve really loved posting on both Instagram stories and to my feed over the past few months, I’m not prepared to let the new algorithm stop me any time soon!
