First of all, let me bring you up to speed… After a stressful few months of venue hunting, it turns out that the first place we visited that I just couldn’t get out of my mind will (fingers crossed) be our wedding venue! We are hoping to book it before Christmas and get married April 2018 – finally a bloody plan is forming!
With the worry of finding a venue is out of the way, so many other ideas are starting to take shape. As of now the main colour scheme will be that beautiful blush pink and gold. With all the current wedding excitement I have decided to make a wedding wishlist, sharing some of the bits and bobs I have spotted that have got me excited for the big day…
I have been advised not to over decorate – and I completely agree. As much as I love very intricate details, I don’t want to over complicate it and have too many bits and bobs dotted around the venue. I’m going to stick with candles, flowers and balloons/ lanterns as my main decor features. I recently received this gorgeous Kate Spade Candle – Pretty and Witty* not only does it match my colour scheme but it is a beautiful fresh lily scent that will work perfectly for my spring wedding. Speaking of scent, as I’m hoping to get married in April, I think Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede will be the perfect fragrance. I remember the moment I first tried this and and as cheesy as it sounds, I felt prettyyyyy special. I’m hoping to have a consultation and maybe combine this with another Jo Malone cologne.
I’m slightly Kate Spade obsessed, so when I saw these Mr & Mrs Balloons I actually smiled and thought how lovely they would look as a feature in the wedding photography – but, they are incredibly hard to get hold of. Alternatively I did see lots of notonthehighstreet.com that are good alternatives! I also spotted this mirror from Kate Spade and thought it would be something nice to use throughout the day, especially with the quote on the casing – surely this counts as something blue, right?
I’m feeling positive with the progress we’ve made over the past few months. I kept trying to cram my ideas into just one wedding theme such as rustic or vintage, but they just didn’t fit – I feel so much more relaxed just following my own style and being happy with what I love! My other half is actually away with work for four months next year – so I’m sure to have plenty of time on my hands for any DIY or bigger things that need to be arranged.
What does your dream wedding look like? Do you have any idea of colour scheme?
