NYX has been such a massive brand this year, it’s affordable yet replicates the standard of products that are double the price.
NYX products are exciting, on trend and I just find looking through their range of lip goodies really exciting. I have been building up a little collection ordering from both ASOS and visiting Boots. I have wrote a whole post on how I fill in my brows using the Micro Brow Pencil which I love.
SOFT MATTE LIP CREAMS
Firstly the lip creams do dry more matte than the images show, it takes around 30- 40 minutes for them to become completely matte but the colour stays the same. I wanted to start with these because they are my absolute favourite. If you want a matte finish without it feeling uncomfortable on your lips then these are for you, the colour is buildable without any flaking of the product and the colour selection is unreal (if you can manage to hunt down some of the more popular colours, Stockholm I’m looking at you!). I find these last a good 4 hours on me without any movement or transfer, then I can easily just tidy everything up by applying another layer and it is back to perfect again.
LIP LINGERIE
If you have been on Instagram lately you’ll have most probably seen one of these making an appearance on your timeline. The range boasts a selection of Kylie Jenner/ 90’s inspired shades with a matte finish. to be truthful, I’m not the biggest fan. Compared to the soft matte lip creams I found the formulation to be incredibly drying, having fairly dry lips anyway the colour ended up looking pretty awful. The shade Baby Doll was a bad colour pick on my part, it looks like I’ve taken the concealer and used that as a lipstick instead. If you do like that 90’s lip look then this range has so many options, but for me it is a little too much.
BUTTER GLOSS
I never gravitate towards wearing lip gloss because I’m so stuck in a rut with the mountain of lipsticks I own! When I do wear lip gloss I’m pretty fussy, but the butter glosses are up there as some of my favourites. Firstly they smell amazing, like the pic’n’mix stands you get at the cinema (the important things eh)… The consistency is perfect, not too thick or too running and definitely not sticky. The colours are pretty clear compared to the tube but leave such a glossy finish. I love to wear these over the top of lipliners of lipsticks more so than on there own.
CONCEALER
I have mentioned the concealer before and I did get off to a bad start with it, but using it more my opinions are definitely starting to change. If you have dry under eyes I would use an eye cream with this as it can cling to dry patches, but for £5.50 this concealer is so pigmented and blendable and does last all day once its powdered, covering any late night stint too. I have the shade light so I can only use this for my under eyes, but I’m now tempted to buy one to suit my skin tone.
BLUSHER
I picked up the blusher after seeing it being used as a contour shade, but I have a feeling it was Taupe I was after and not Nudeitude. Anyway I have Nudeitude, and I’m actually pretty glad. This blush is pigmented but not to the point where I’m having to tap off most of the product, which I much prefer. I find this shade lifts my pale skin and gives me a natural looking colour, I have been using this all over my face not just my cheeks for a flush of colour. I think this is any pale skinned gals (or guys) best friend.
I really hope you enjoyed this post! I would love to know what your favourite products from NYX are, especially which soft matte lip creams I need to add to my list next!
