After misplacing my Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm back in January I decided to give the Burts Bees Beeswax Lip balm a try. The Nuxe Reve De Miel can be a little tricky to pick up, so in the interim I just thought I would buy a more affordable alternative. The two are really quite different in finish and feel on my lips, but honestly, I think I’ve found myself a Nuxe Reve De Miel dupe, because in terms of end results, they’re pretty darn similar!
Now, that doesn’t mean the Reve De Miel doesn’t have a place. It’s a lot thicker, and I have to admit it does look and feel more luxurious, it coats the lips and leaves a thick feeling balm that has a matte finish. For me it’s definitely more suited as an overnight treatment, because of the consistency it really does stay put all night and keep my lips moisturised until the morning.
The Burts Bees balm is a lot lighter in texture, feeling much more like a traditional lip balm would on the lips. It’s perfect for every day use and does feel more comfortable to wear if you’re talking a lot (which I seem to be). Both balms contain natural ingredients, mainly oils and hydrating plant extracts which is possibly why I seem to see pretty similar results from both. For day to day wear I love layering the burt’s bees lipbalm over a neutral lip liner, that way my lips have a bit of colour but are still moisturised.
There’s some differences, but if you’re after an affordable lip balm that will nourish your lips then the Burts Bees Balm will absolutely do the job.
Have you come across a Nuxe Reve De Miel dupe?
