Affordable Skincare That Works

There is nothing I love more than a good beauty bargain! All of these products are under the £20 mark and I use them on a weekly if not daily basis. Just for reference I have combination skin and I think most of these products will work for every skin type.

CLEANSE

I love using a Micellar water to remove the majority of my base and eye makeup before I properly cleanse, it makes makeup removal so much easier! I always reach for the Garnier Micellar Water £4.99 and stock up when it's on offer. It's gentle, removes my makeup quickly and makes cleansing 10x easier. For heavy/ full coverage makeup the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Facial Oil* £14.99 is a godsend! This literally melts my makeup in seconds and I haven't found it to be too heavy for my oily skin or clog my pores at all.

With my skin feeling a little dehydrated I have switched back to a cream based cleanser and my go to has been the Una Brennan Creamy Cleanser* £7.99. This is the closest dupe I've found for the infamous Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (which I love). It is hydrating and works perfectly with my Magnitone as a second cleanse, and I think I'll be repurchasing this over the Cleanse and Polish!

MASKS

I have quite a few affordable face masks in my collection, and with the colder weather I have been reaching for the Una Brennan Rose Intense Moisture Mask* £9.99 most. I love how much of a difference I notice when I use this, it leaves my skin feeling soft, nourished and diminishes the appearance of fine dehydration lines. If I'm looking to add some glow to my skin I'll use the Nip and Fab Glycolic Instant Fix Mask £12.99. This contains 5% Glycolic acid and leaves my skin looking radiant, refined and it feels much softer too. I love the effects of Glycolic acid, using this twice a week keeps my skin clear and the gentle exfoliation helps any other products I use sink into my skin making them more effective.

TREAT

I couldn't do this post without mentioning La Roche Posay, I can't rave about this brand enough if you have acne/ blemish prone skin. One of my absolute favourite products is the Effaclar K £14.90, this is powerful enough to treat breakouts effectively without being too drying or leaving my skin feeling dry/ dehydrated.

    1. Oo I've never tried the Vitamin C range, I'm really impressed with everything I have tried though! Perfect for oily skin isn't it, I don't use it as a moisturiser as it suggests but for me as a treatment it's fab! x

I wish I could use La Roche Posay, but so far I've tried three products, and my skin has reacted really badly to all of them :( I must be allergic to an ingredient xx

    1. Yeah I couldn't agree more, it's such good value for money and feels lovely on the skin! That's such a shame, have you tried Avene? I find quite a few of their products to be similar!

  13. I'm a huge fan of SuperFacialist products. I especially love their Vitamin C Cleansing Oil, Salicylic mask and neroli eye cream. The rose oil you mention here is another favourite but I find it far too lush to use as a cleanser so I actually use is as a facial oil and I love it xxx

    1. I didn't get on well with the Superdrug range but my mum loves it, I guess it's just personal preference and skin differences, but I've seen lots of people mention it and love it! La Roche Posay is fab, it's so effective yet reasonably priced! x

  15. The intense moisture mask sounds lovely, moisture masks are my saving grace in the winter. I swear by the Superdrug Vitamin E serum, only a couple of pounds but it works so well

  16. This small niche company now uses Phytessence Wakame in their 100% pure skincare products, and it is now an essential ingredient in just about all of their skincare range. It's naturally occurring, safe, and extremely effective.
