Is The Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Kit Worth The Hype?

I've been after an "all in one" face palette for a while, and when I spotted this kit I just couldn't resist! With all the hype surrounding the Too Faced 'Sweet Peach' range I had really high hopes for this peach scented, quirky product... But does it live up to the hype?

The palette contains a highlighter, blusher and bronzer - all designed to provide an illuminated look to the skin with a peachy glow. The ombre tin packaging and the adorable peach mascot are something I usually stir clear from when it comes to beauty products (I usually lust after brands like Hourglass and Nars), but in this case the fun and exciting branding just drew me in!

The sickly peach scent is a nice addition but ofcourse not a reason to spend £34. When I swatched the shades instore I was impressed, the highlighter reminded me of Becca's infamous Champagne Pop and the blusher and bronzer seemed fairly pigmented - and with the beautiful peachy undertones I expected. Annoyingly, when using a brush with this palette it's a different story, every single brush I've tried just doesn't seem to pick up any of the product. The formulation just isn't there for me, it's not finely milled or highly pigmented which is something I expect from a palette like this! It's a shame because it's not even just one of the products, all three of the shades lack pigmentation and that silky soft feeling I want from my base products.

Another issue I have is how long the products last on the skin, after only a couple of hours you wouldn't have thought I had even applied highlighter! The bronzer is the biggest fail with barely any pigmentation coming from the pan itself, making it pretty pointless in my opinion. When first applied the blush shade does look pretty, I can imagine it being beautiful for the summer months with a pink/ peach lip, but this would need topping up every few hours as it just doesn't last. I think I'm probably going to get use out of this palette by using the shades as eyeshadows, the highlighter is pretty and teamed with the UD primer potion I think it would look nice as a wash of colour over the lid.

Overall I'm pretty gutted I didn't do my research and made an impulse purchase. I did actually pick up the Papa Don't Peach blusher for a giveaway on my twitter which will be going live 21/01/17 at 5pm. I think that seems like a much better product from the range compared to this palette. If you want to enter my twitter is 'jodiemelissaxo'

  6. Can't believe I'm reading this! This was the only thing I was after from the Sweet Peach range, I think I'll read a few more reviews before spending £30+ on it! Too Faced is my favourite brand and it usually never does a thing badly!

    1. Ahh I suppose everyone has different expectations from a product, in a highlighter I prefer it to be really pigmented and long lasting, this feels more like a inexpensive formulation! Let me know if you end up buying it and your thoughts! x

  23. Oh, I'm very surprised that these are not smooth and pigmented like you would expect from a Too Faced palette!
I was tempted to get it but hesitated because I just have too much stuff and want to make the most of my collection.
That must very disappointing for you. Have you tried scarping lightly the first layer, sometimes when products have this kind embossing they're hardened at the top but the formula seems to be much better once the protective layer is scrapped off. x

  37. It's such a shame when products don't live up to your expectations, especially when they're from a reputable brand! I really feel for you! If you're still looking for an all in one face palette then I've been loving the Zoeva Rose Gold Blush Palette lately (there's a review on my blog if you want to check that out)- I'd never have picked it up myself as I generally prefer more sleek looking brands but I can't fault it, although I rarely wear the blush as I'm not really a blush wearer!

  40. That's such a shame about the formula! Even though I love Too Faced, it's one of my favourite brands, I do find their products are so inconsistent. It's sometimes a gamble if the quality is going to be up to scratch or not and I hate that! xo

  41. I'm so glad I didn't impulse buy this product! It's such a shame because all of the photo's of this palette (especially the one on their website) make it look really pigmented and glowy! 42. It has to be pretty disappointing to spend that much money on a palette and not like a single product from it. I guess Too Faced got a little carried away with and worked too hard on their branding and not in the product itself.

  45. I'd seen comments about the lack of pigmentation from those in America when it first released and I honestly find it such a shame that this isn't up to scratch!

The eyeshadow palette has incredible colour pay off and I find the matte shadows last all day, it seems to be their shimmer products they seem to struggle with. Thank you for an honest review, I think I'll put my money towards something else! (The lip glosses look incredible though) x
