Holiday Lip Products

I could really do with one of those holidays that involves sunbathing all day, a couple few cocktails at night and a beautiful sandy beach.
I haven't got anything of the sort planned but in the mean time I thought I would plan what lipsticks I would take (as you do) if I hopefully manage to squeeze in a quick holiday this summer. I usually love my nude lipsticks and lip liners, but on holiday it is completely different, a orange/ red lip is my go to sort of shade in the evenings with a little mascara and a lot of bronzer.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick - LOVEBITE is a creamy red shade with orange undertones, orange shades are much more flattering when I'm tanned (usually faked, even when I go on holiday). I do usually prefer a bold matte lip (that's where the Nars lip pencils come in) - but on holiday there is something about a more creamy finish that I really like. However, as I said a bold matte lip is my number one so I couldn't not include the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Iberico, for a matte lip it glides on so smoothly, lasts all day and this colour is gorgeous against bronzed skin! I think any sort of skin tone you cannot go wrong with an orange/ red shade in the summer months.

My lips get so dry in the sun so this post couldn't be without a luxury lip balm. For beach days the Nuxe Reve De Miel  come in very handy. It leaves a matte looking finish at first but that soon goes, then you're left with nourished lips for hours, it is the most long wearing lip balm I've tried, and actually does the job. If I'm wanting a little more colour I opt for the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors (well that's a mouthful). I am still obsessed with these as they add a nice bit of colour but nourish at the same time. The packaging and applicator makes it easy to carry around, everyone needs one of these all year round!
